Trident Proposal Management is proud to announce its approval for the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) Small Business Partnership. Confirmed in January 2025, this selection underscores our dedication to providing flexible and portable job opportunities to military spouses, drilling Reservists, and veterans around the world.

The MSEP program, launched by the Department of Defense, connects military spouses with companies that understand the unique challenges of the military lifestyle. By partnering with businesses that understand and appreciate the values of military spouses, they can help reduce the employment barriers many military spouses face.

A 2023 DoD report found that 21% of military spouses are unemployed, compared to the national average of 4% (according to a report from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, January 2025).  High unemployment rates are attributed to frequent relocations, changes in family responsibilities during deployments, unaccompanied tours, frequent travel, schools, and other factors. The geographic location of some military bases and limited job opportunities also play a key role.

Trident reinforced its commitment to supporting military spouses by signing the 4+1 Commitment in October 2024. This initiative, developed by Blue Star Families, Hiring Our Heroes, and the MSEP, promotes four military spouse-friendly policies:

  • Facilitate job transferability
  • Offer remote or telework
  • Offer flexible work hours
  • Provide paid or permissive Permanent Change of Station (PCS) leave

Trident’s involvement with both the 4+1 Commitment and the MSEP strengthens its core value of creating flexible and portable job opportunities for military communities.

“We’re incredibly excited about this partnership and the opportunity it provides to continue supporting military spouses through new avenues,” said Rebecca Wayland, Trident’s Chief of Staff. “We’re hoping this partnership will help connect us to even more military spouses who are eager to make a meaningful impact and expand their professional skills as part of our integrated team.

At Trident, we continue to attract, hire, and retain MilSpouses. We remain committed to empowering military communities and look forward to this partnership's opportunities.
