Accounting andĀ Financial SpecialistĀ (Remote)
This position may be a W-2 or 1099 (contractor), depending on the location. All work can be conducted virtually. Because this position is remote, candidates must be effective communicators who are comfortable working autonomously and under compressed deadlines.Ā
Position Description
This is primarily an internal role but involves direct coordination with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable client representatives. The Specialist owns the day-to-day administrative, financial, and back-office systems that keep client engagements flowing and the company running. TheĀ Specialist partners closely with the Chief Operations Officer and the Chief of Staff to ensure billable engagements are correctly initiated, billed, tracked, closed, and archived; that financial reporting is timely and accurate; and that company-wide HR, compliance, and system administration tasks are handled with precision and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate fluency with QuickBooks, client AP portals, and PEO platforms (Paychex).
- Experience conducting AP/AR functions for business
- Possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic financial modeling) and full proficiency across the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Forms).
- Operate independently across multiple concurrent priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Build and maintain documented standard operating procedures for recurring administrative work.
- Background and experience in business administration, operations, or finance; experience in a small-business or government-contracting environment is preferred.
Qualifications/Experience:
Required
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- 2 years QuickBooks experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- AP/AR experience

Education Requirements:
- Associate's degree or 5 years relevant experience (degree preferred; experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
